Chiropractic Care

At AdKore Rehabilitation Chiropractic & Physical Therapy, you have access to chiropractic care that will empower you to get better. With our drug-free, preventative chiropractic care, you can live a healthier, pain-free life.

Your first step is to see us and discover if you can benefit from chiropractic. If so, we’ll work to identify your problem, educate you on it and give you the treatment you need.

Connecting Your Brain and Body

The connection between your brain and body is like an electrical wire. When it isn’t working as it should, it’s as if a short exists in a circuit. The messages between the brain and body aren’t getting where they need to go in the manner they should. We restore motion to your joints so that your body and brain can talk to each other again as they need to.

The Three Phases of Care

We have three phases of care to move you through on the path to wellness:

  1. Relief. During this acute phase of care, we want your pain to go away. Modalities, including massage therapy, acupuncture, chiropractic care and stretching, would be used.
  2. Corrective. Your symptoms are improved, so we’ll focus on your function and mobility. We’ll use passive and active modalities.
  3. Strengthening. We’ll make your problem areas stronger so you don’t have setbacks. We’ll also give you exercises that you can do at home.

Nutrition advice is also sometimes part of your care plan.

Once you’ve gone through these phases, you can see us at a reduced frequency, perhaps once or twice a month, so that you don’t have setbacks. In doing so, you won’t get hurt again or find your condition worsening. We’ll also perform a monthly reexam to make sure you’re progressing.
There are many conditions that respond well to what we do, such as

    • Auto accident injuries
    • Back and neck pain
    • Headaches
    • Herniated/bulging discs
      • Joint pain
      • Pinched nerves
      • Sciatic pain
      • Sports injuries

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the adjustment do to me?

As chiropractors, we biomechanically check the joints to see which ones aren’t functioning correctly. The adjustment removes interference in the nervous system so you can have increased range of motion, reduced pain and more.

Will I hear a ‘popping’ sound during my adjustment?

It’s possible that you may hear a popping sound but have no fear—it’s merely gas escaping from the spinal joints. If this sound makes you nervous or uneasy, let us know and we can change the technique used in your adjustment to help you have a more relaxing experience. We offer an array of methods, including light-force instrument- assisted ones.

Can patients of all ages benefit from chiropractic care?

Yes, everyone with a spine can benefit. Young children may avoid ear infections and other conditions. Teens who have forward posture from looking at their phones can improve their posture. Adults and seniors can have improved function, less pain and enjoy a higher quality of life with chiropractic.

Can I receive acupuncture or a massage in addition to chiropractic care?

Absolutely! We may recommend that you receive one or both in addition to chiropractic care. The choice is entirely up to you whether or not you’d like to schedule those sessions. Massage and acupuncture often work together with chiropractic adjustments to help you hold them longer and reduce inflammation in your body.

How long will I need to be under care to see results?

Because each patient is unique, it’s difficult to say how often you may need to be adjusted before we see you and evaluate your specific needs. We’ll always make the recommendation for care that gets you out of pain and into healing as quickly as possible and promise to be transparent in your needs.

How long will this good feeling last?

About 1-2 days. An adjustment needs to be given a few times to be able to get it to set correctly and have your body receive that adjustment. That’s why we have a physical therapist to provide exercises to help retrain your muscles so they support the adjustment. Massage therapy also can help. All of these things help support that structural change that we make, which has a functional effect.

Will my care be painful?

Most of our patients find chiropractic adjustments extremely relaxing, with many leaving our office feeling better than they did when they entered. If at any time you’re uncomfortable during your adjustment, please don’t hesitate to let us know so we can change your technique—we want you to be relaxed and comfortable in our care.

Do I have to be under care for the rest of my life?

How long you want to be under care is up to you. Consider the fact that you likely go to the dentist every six months for checkups to make sure you don’t have decay. Just as you go to the dentist to ensure you maintain optimal oral health seeing a chiropractor can help you enjoy great overall health.
